Airship Armada is a turn-based tactics game with RPG elements. You command fleets of airships in tactical naval battles on a hex grid, following the stories of daring captains seeking their fortunes on the Sea of Storms. Board-game-like core mechanics combine with unique character and ship abilities that reward strategic thinking, and each campaign is its own adventure, shaped by luck, skill, and the choices you make.
The game draws on high-fantasy RPGs like Final Fantasy, tactics and tabletop games like Final Fantasy Tactics, MechWarrior, and Warmachine, and indie tactics hits like The Banner Saga and Into the Breach. Its core mechanics are its own.
The Steam page and teaser trailer went live in August 2026. Release date to be announced.
My role
I founded Arcturus Interactive and am the game’s creative director. Airship Armada is a long-held dream project: the original concept predates my first job in games in 2002, and over the years art director Nate Feyma and I built out the Broken World across two full-length RPG campaigns.
Arcturus is a small team, two and a half people full time, made up of friends who have worked together in games for more than seventeen years. We’re joined by the art studio Ravegan, whose clients include Supercell, Rovio, Larian, and Disney.
